What Is WPC?

Wood Plastic Composite — The Best of Both Worlds

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) panels are engineered from a blend of natural wood fiber and high-performance polymers. The result is a panel that looks and feels like real wood, but is completely impervious to moisture, insects, and the temperature swings of New England winters.

The fluted (ribbed) profile adds depth and shadow lines that create a stunning three-dimensional effect on any wall. Unlike traditional wood paneling, WPC requires zero painting, sealing, or staining — ever.

How to Install WPC Fluted Panels

WPC panels are engineered for fast, clean installation. A standard accent wall can be completed in under 3 hours. No special tools needed beyond a miter saw and adhesive.

1

Measure & Plan

Measure your wall height and width. Calculate coverage: divide wall width by panel width (6") to determine panel count. Add 10% for waste.

2

Cut to Size

Use a circular saw or miter saw to trim panels to your ceiling height. Cut with the decorative face up for a clean edge. Always wear safety glasses.

3

Apply & Interlock

Apply heavy-duty construction adhesive in a zig-zag pattern to the panel back. Press firmly to wall, slide the tongue-and-groove edges together seamlessly.

4

Secure & Finish

Use brad nails hidden in the groove lip for extra holding power. Add matching trim pieces at corners and ceiling. Step back and admire your work.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About WPC Panels

Are WPC fluted panels actually waterproof?

Yes — 100%. WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) contains no natural wood fibers that can absorb water. The polymer component creates a completely waterproof barrier. They are safe for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and even partial shower surrounds.

Can I install WPC panels over existing tile or drywall?

Yes. WPC panels can be applied directly over existing tile, painted drywall, or plywood using heavy-duty construction adhesive. As long as the surface is flat, clean, and structurally sound, no demolition is required — saving significant time and money.

How do you clean and maintain WPC fluted panels?

Maintenance is virtually zero. Dust weekly with a microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, wipe with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or chemical solvents that could scratch the UV lacquer finish. Never requires painting, staining, or sealing.

How long do WPC fluted panels last?

WPC panels are engineered for 25+ years of interior use. Unlike real wood, they do not fade, warp, crack, or degrade over time. The UV-resistant pigments in the lacquer topcoat prevent color fading even in rooms with significant natural light.

What colors and finishes are available?

We carry Black, Walnut Brown, White Oak, Light Grey, Charcoal, and Natural Beige in stock at our Boston MA showroom. Additional finishes can be special-ordered. Visit the showroom to compare colors in person and take free samples home.

How much do WPC fluted panels cost?

Pricing depends on the panel color, total coverage area, and whether you need professional installation. Call us at (413) 433-0340 or visit our showroom for a free, no-pressure quote on materials and installation.

Are WPC panels safe? Do they off-gas VOCs?

WPC panels meet strict indoor air quality standards. Our panels are Class B fire retardant and formaldehyde-free. Once installed, there is no off-gassing or odor — making them safe for bedrooms, children's rooms, and spaces occupied by people with chemical sensitivities.

Do you serve areas outside of Boston MA?

Absolutely. Our showroom is in Boston MA but our installation team serves all of Eastern Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Call us to discuss your project anywhere in New England.
